  1. Make sure the Device(MFP/SFP) should be upgraded with the latest build. Enable and setup the Network Accounting (JBA). Steps to enable JBA: 1) At the device login as Administrator. 2) Go to the Properties tab-Login/Permissions/Accounting-Accounting Method. In the Accounting Method click the Edit button,then select Network Accounting from the dropdown. Click Save. 5. Create numeric User ID and Account ID through JBA interface tool (TestRunner). Note: steps below also are documented in the JBA test cases (ApTest). 1) When the TestRunner tool opens,click on the Comprehensive tab. 2) Enter the IP address in the Target Address: text box. 3) Perform the JBA enabled Test: 4) Check the Test SSL Enabled check-box. 5) The Target JBA Enabled check-box will automatically check itself if JBA is set up correctly on the device. 6) Set the
    User Id
    and Account Id: 7) Click the Set_Auth button. 8) The Choose File dialog box will open. 9) Select the +u_1_A1.txt. file and right click on it. 10) Choose Open With from the drop-down menu,and open the file with Word Pad. When the +u_1_A1.txt. file opens,add the following line of code: +u"1"1",and click File Save. Note: For the sake of simplicity we use 1 and 1 as User Id and Account Id,other numbers can be used for these values,as long as the script is modified accordingly. 11) The script file will close and focus will return to the Choose File dialog box. Click Open to run the script and set the User Id and Account Id. Focus will return to the TestRunner dialog box and the JBA account information will populate in the bottom text box

PROCEDURE:

  1. With enabled JBA; Perform print job and make sure that the system prompts users for their account identification via accounting IDs. 2. Go ahead and provide previously set accounting IDs which in this case are 1 for the user and 1 for the ID. 3. Perform a print job. 4. Through the Test Runner JBA Interface tool; make sure that the JBA job log contains required job attributes.

OUTPUT:

When the print job is finished,the system device can make accounting data of this job available to the External Accounting System,at its request.
